DIY Halloween Shirts You Can Make with Printables

halloween shirts for kids with fun free graphics

Think you have to have special tool like a circuit to diy halloween shirts? Nope, think again. So many shirts I see you have to make with a circuit. And while that’s great, I’m not a huge fan of the circuit and I gave mine away. I do love designing different products though. Which is why I love Zazzle.

I’ve created festive Halloween shirts for kids that you can make with the files below. I’m going to show you how. These aren’t meant to be costumes, but can be great for fall photos, school parties and more.

How I DIY Halloween Shirts

Why Zazzle?

First things first, you might be wondering what the heck Zazzle is. Well, Zazzle is a online marketplace where you can design all sorts of fun things. They have shirts, home decor, and so much more. I love it for making things that just take to long to make myself.

See, I design and print in my own home shop, but making pillows, etc, not something I do. However, I love to design, clearly, so I love that I can put my designs on all sorts of fun things. Which is what I’ve done below.

This post is dedicated to Halloween shirts for kids, but really, you can put them on anything. I’m going to show you how in just 10 steps.

Steps to DIY Halloween Shirts for Kids

First download the printables in The Printables Club and save them to your phone or computer.

  1. Open Zazzle (www.zazzle.com)
  2. Head to “Create your own” in the upper left corner
  3. You’ll see there are a lot of options to create, but for this purpose, I’m choosing the kids t-shirt.
  4. Decide on a color. This can be important before adding files. Some of the files are white and therefore won’t show up on white shirts (and some are all black, so you get the idea)
  5. Now it’s time to make it yours! So choose the “add images” button.
  6. Once you do step #5, you’ll be taken to a screen to upload the images
  7. Upload the free files you’ve already downloaded and saved to your phone or computer
  8. When you upload the graphics, they will all be in the editing screen. Therefore, I do recommend uploading one at a time. You can now easily move around the graphic how you’d like.
  9. Finally, add some text! This is just as easy as adding a graphic. Change fonts, colors, and size of text all in the editor.
  10. Once you’re happy with it, you’ll hit the “done” button in the upper right hand corner.

That’s it! Now all you need to do is add to cart and check out. I’m sharing all the graphics below that I used to create shirts in this exact way below. Don’t forget to download them from the club.

Now that you know how to make the shirts on Zazzle, now it’s time to discuss the printables. Also, if you’re not sure you want to start from scratch yet on Zazzle, maybe you’re a newbie, that’s okay.

I’ve done that for you too! I’ve got 10 shirts below ready for your personalization. I’ve also included screenshots to show you how to personalize them so you don’t have to start from scratch.

Halloween Shirt Ideas for Kids

1. Trick or Treat

First up, we can’t really talk about fall and not mention trick-or-treating. Personally, I love seeing all the cute costumes every year and making treat bags for all the kids.

2. Zombie

Next up, this design was inspired by the little boys in my header picture. I did a pumpkin patch photoshoot with them last year and I loved their little shirts. I felt the need to create my own.

3. Candy Corn

I love, love, love candy corn. If someone gave me a box full of candy corn, I’d be so happy. However, I also know that candy corn is a controversial candy and not all people like it, so I guess you could say it’s a trick or a treat. Thus, the shirt below.

4. Black Cat

Next up is the design with the cat.  Since it says “too cute to spook”, I love it on baby clothes. Just a reminder that black cats are not bad luck either!

5. Ghosts

Another classic Halloween character is the ghost. I definitely had to go the route of using the word “boo” on this design. However, you don’t have to keep it. That’s the beauty of Zazzle. I love this first halloween shirt for baby’s first “boo”.

6. Mummy

There’s apparently great debate about mummies vs. zombies and whether or not they are the same thing. The Big Bang has had discussions regarding this very question. From a design standpoint, they are very different. Therefore I feel they are owed their own category. I really love the idea of this design for a baby outfit because of the phrase “my mummy loves me.” It would make a great baby shower gift for fall baby.

7. Spider

Spiders are super creepy but that’s what makes them great for Halloween, right?

8. Bat

For this one, I had to go with the “bat attitude”. I love a good play on words and I just could not resist (#sorrynotsorry).

9. Witch Hat & Feet

I love this saying for this year. It’s been a rough one, so witch had better have my candy! I think witches are too fun so I love this shirt.
