How many more days ’till Christmas? Can we open presents? How about just one? When do we make cookies? Is Santa coming yet?
Do your kids ever say these things to you? Is it slightly annoying? Of course it is. I know you want to make memories during the holiday season, but I also know there’s so much pressure. There are so many things you’re supposed to do and only so many days. You also can’t start before Thanksgiving, because that’s rude too (cue eye roll).
Here’s the reality, make counting down the days fun for your kids but put them in charge of it. Today I’m sharing my Christmas countdown printables. You can find the set in the Printables Club.
The set has 10 different designs as well as numbers from 1-30. However, my favorite one is the family activity countdown. This one gives you ideas to do each day so you don’t have to come up with it. AND, you don’t have to listen to the kids ask what to do that day or how may days until Santa comes. It’s the best way to countdown to Christmas with your kids. They’ll get excited to do something each day.
As an added bonus, I’m sharing how I mount my countdowns on wooden frames to keep them forever and how to use velcro so you can use them over and over.
Christmas Countdown Bundle
Before we get to how I mount and use my countdowns, here’s a overview of whats in the bundle. You can find it in the club.
There are ten different countdowns and three styles of numbers from 30 to 1. Use the black squares for the santa belt, the red dots for the rudolph nose and the white and green for the rest.
How to Make the Countdowns into Re-usable Signs
Now it’s time to talk assembly.
First up, gather your materials. You’ll need the following for this:
- Wood Frame
- Mod Podge
- Foam Brush
- Scissors/punch/paper cutter
I’ve got a video below to show you how it’s done.
